The Man Behind the Curtain

TONY SOLOMON

A documentary film by Don Muchow and Old 55 Productions

Meet Tony Solomon, economist, entrepreneur, sculptor, art collector, dedicated public servant, enigma. First appointed by Roosevelt, lauded by Churchill, confidant of Paul Volcker and Pete Peterson. This is the story of a man who left few tracks traced through the diverse voices of friends, family and colleagues. Socially insecure, benevolent and intimidating he steered public policy with unshakable confidence. Choosing pragmatism over ideology, his true north was a belief that government could be a force for good in people’s lives. He left a legacy that remains behind the curtain of anonymity yet visible on the face we recognize as our common humanity.
